2026 Update
Every year, as I write my update to you, I consider what has happened in our business, my own life, our country, and the world at large. Wow! I have never had as much to consider for each of those elements as in this time around. Every day my mind whirls as each of those areas morph and shift, often on unsteady ground. I strive to stay connected to you through NMT and our mutual goals. Here is my update for 2026 and also my own plans for the future.
As you may already know, the entire year of 2019 was spent revising our curriculum, PPT presentations and all course materials that we use to teach our seminars. We revised the content so that each Friday presentation is unique, with added strategies to improve your understanding of gait, breathing dysfunctions and physical evaluations. In March 2020, the pandemic shut us (and the world) down for the entire year, while 2021 offered only a small reprieve. During that time, and after 40 years on the road, I decided not to go back to living out of a suitcase. Our other instructors also had life changes and many retired from teaching. As of now, I am the only seminar instructor and, for now, the only office staff. It is exactly what I planned and now the plan is moving to a new phase.
For 2023-2025, those who studied with NMT Center flew to St. Petersburg for the classes and I stayed home. This allowed me to sell my home where I lived for 30 years, uproot myself and my office, and relocate to a MUCH smaller place in line with my future plans to travel for fun and possibly relocate outside the US. I am still unpacking boxes, shredding documents and reorganizing the way that the company is run. My goal is to replace myself in day-to-day tasks so that, once I am gone, NMT American version and the certification training we developed will carry on seamlessly. I am clearly unsure of how much longer I will teach (see below) because I want to use my time in creative ways to achieve what is outlined below.
In the process of updating our materials, we added voice-over technique videos for the events and now we give (at no cost) access for all attendees to review the videos for 90 days after attending a class. They do not replace the training – they hone and polish the skills you learn in class. If you are serious about mastering NMT, I think you will agree that this has been the most important addition to our work in many years and one of the most valuable assets you will gain in the training! I have also developed a secure and protected system to administer the NMT exam via ZOOM, eliminating unnecessary travel to achieve certification. Of course, the exam can still be given in a private live session or in a group, when there are sufficient examinees and an examiner available.
My focus in 2026 is to establish an instructor training for the seminar and school programs to help standardize the presentation of information and to make it easier for an individual or school to prepare to teach NMT American version or to qualify a new instructor. Two seminar instructors have already completed a portion of that work and qualify to teach at least one seminar each in our certification series. Several others are in the process to qualify to train. This way, when I retire, I will already have passed the torch of NMT instruction to competent, qualified and dedicated teachers. We are also developing materials for selected schools that already teach our program in their curriculum to also provide it in continuing education format. I may also produce some live-stream events later in the year (or in 2027) that will expand the skills and understanding that you gain in the certification training. These ideas and plans are evolving and I am grateful for your patience as we develop, beta-test and implement them.
My personal plans remain intact – I would like to move to Italy. I will be spending more time there this year while I consider relocation. I have achieved conversational level with my Italian language studies and continue to “studio l’italiano lingue ogni giorno” (I study every day for 1-2 hours). I have committed to teaching three seminars in 2026 in St Petersburg FL and those dates are posted. I will likely teach a bit in 2027, however, I cannot promise that at this time. If you know that you want a seminar, remember that SEATING is LIMITED, so place your $100 deposit to confirm your seat as soon as you decide to come. Don’t delay and take the risk that it will sell out. When the last seat is gone, then registration is closed – that is a promise.
May you and your family be blessed with good health and great adventures! Maybe we can meet up in Italy for a cup of cappuccino or share some of the best pasta on Earth.
With highest regards,
